The boatsheds and jetties are in good condition. Although there are areas of damaged weatherboard and rot in the timber studs on the Forrest Boatshed, the boatsheds are in good condition for their age and location. The roof height on the Forrest Boatshed has been raised and steel portal frames have been fixed to the existing timber framed structure providing support and longevity for continued use.

Constructed from 1913, Constructed from 1920
This group of weatherboard and galvanised iron boatsheds, in Federation Vernacular style, have cultural significance because: the boatsheds formed the early accommodation for the Freshwater Bay Yacht Club, which was a popular institution amongst Peppermint Grove residents; the boatsheds reflect the nature and standard of accommodationfor early boating clubs; the boatsheds are part of the Keane's Point cultural group and townscape area.
The boatsheds are straightforward examples of their genre, but made more picturesque by their grouping and being located on the well lit southern foreshore. The boatsheds are unusual in having been relocated from another nearby site. This probably meant that the piled footings were renewed at that time.
The Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club was formedas a 'Boating Club' in 1896, and became a 'yacht club' in 1903, the club received its Royal Charter in 1934. In 1903 a clubhouse was built on the Irvine Street jetty, and a new slipway was added c.190S. The boatsheds have been dated to about 1913 to 1920. In 1936 the club moved to the Keane's old residence on Keane's point, and the boat sheds were transported across the bay to their present positron. The Yacht Club was a popular institution among Peppermint Grove residents and had a junior division for the local youth. Many of the stalwart members of the Peppermint Grove, such as Chief Justice McMillan and William Evans, held key positions in the club. Considerable historical significance.

Constructed from 1897
The brick, limestone, render and iron singlestoreyed school building, in the Federation Free Style/Arts & Crafts styles, has cultural significancebecause: - it has exceptional historical associations with the local community, the education community and distinguished public and political figures; - it is one of the most distinguishedstate school designs of its period; - it is representative of the standard and facilities of available public education; - it is a major amenity and landmark in the suburb.
The place is a landmark due to its prominent location on Stirling Highway and its pleasing design. It is a good example of the ambitious style of architecture following from gold based prosperity by George Temple Poole one ofWestern Australia's finest architects.
The place was the first permanent state school to be established in the area. The school was opened officiallyin 1898 with a roll of208 children. Fees were 6d for every child over 12 years and 3d for every child under 12. State school fees were abolished in 1899. The school underwent two further stages of developmentuntil 1910. The school has had a number of notable headmasters and several former pupils have gone on to distinguished careers in education. It continues to serve as a Primary School. Pupils at the school have included, Dame Rachel Cleland (Evans). Exceptional historical significance.
The place is attractive, harmonious, well proportioned and coherent building which has skillfullywelded two similar, but differing styles. The first stage was designed by George Temple Poole in a characteristic Free Classical style, whilst the western additions are more in the standardised school designs, using a subdued Arts & Crafts style. The school was built in stages. The first stage, completed in 1898, consisted of the eastern gable and colonnaded central wing, with 4 classrooms, in a Federation Free Style. The original roof was timber shingles. A western gable was added in 1899, with two extra classrooms. A further western gable with two classrooms was added in 1910 and the classrooms in the eastern gable were converted into a hall. Major additions completed 1989.

The single storey limestone and painted iron Police Station, in the Federation Arts and Crafts style, has cultrual significance because: it has considerable historical significance having functioned as the local police presence in the district for some 90 years; it is a fine, if austere, example of the Federation Arts and Crafts style applied to a local police station; it has social significance because of the amentiy which it brought to the district during its operation.
The place is a pleasing, if austere, example of its style and period, befitting a local police station of the time.
The Cottesloe Police Station was officially opened in May 1900. Police then patrolled the areas of Cottesloe, PeppermintGrove and Buckland Hill, on foot, by bicycle or on horseback. It was an important amenity for the district until the end of the 1980s Considerable historical significance. Now used by Blackwell & Associates landscape architects as their office.
The place has been well conserved and sympathetically adapted for the offices of a professional consultancy. Itretains a high level of integrity. Sympathetically adapted from Police Station to professional offices.
